Seton Library
The Seton library is staffed at all times by either the librarian or by a parent volunteer. It is open to students, teachers, and parents from 7:15AM to 3:45PM every day. The library can remain open later than 3:15 if students need to use it. Students may have three books checked out at one time. Books are checked out for a two - week period and are always due on a Friday. There is a fine of $.25 per book for each week that it is overdue.

Student Council Updates at Your Fingertips
The student council at Seton Catholic Middle School is the students' voice in school affairs. Representatives from each S.T.A.R. group meet with the officers each Tuesday during "X" period. Among the projects overseen by this group are monthly social events, and the Adopt An Eagle Nest program. For many years we offered support for College Notre Dame in Haiti . Check back here weekly for the agenda and minutes of each week's meetings and information regarding upcoming social events.

Annual Washington D.C. Trip
Each Spring the 8th grade class at Seton has the wonderful opportunity of traveling to Washington D.C. This year's trip takes place March 28-31, 2006. The trip is booked through WorldStrides. You may get registration information and sample itineraries on their web site. All students and parents planning on attending the trip should have have their registrations taken care of by October 30.

Parents are invited to go on this trip. From past experiances, our parents get as much from the trip as their daughter/son, if not more. The responsibilities are light, but the rewards are phenomenal. The student cost is $988. Because the adults will be boarded in hotel rooms as pairs rather than quads, the cost will increase to $1136. If adults prefer a quad room (two to a bed) then the fee remains at the student price ($988). The fee covers all tour components: round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, all meals, sightseeing fees, and evening social events. We hope to see many of you on the trip! Trip fund raising opportunities are available.

Athletics at Seton
Philosophy:
In accordance with the Green Bay Diocesan Guidelines for Athletics, Seton Catholic Middle School will maintain an athletic program that recognizes all aspects of athletics: sportsmanship, competitiveness, participation, and socialization. The growth of the person as an individual is to be the main thrust. Therefore, we are concerned with the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development of each child in an environment that will provide for learning experiences that are difficult to duplicate in other school activities. The best interests of all will be served in a Christian atmosphere. Click here to view the Athletic Handbook.

Math League Competition
The Math League is a statewide competition that is held throughout the United States. A test is given within the school and the top 5 scores from that grade are sent in to represent the school. Last year in the state of Wisconsin 135 schools took part. The Seton 7th grade team was 10th in the state and the 8th grade team was 20th. In the five county region of which Seton is a part (Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Waushara, and Winnebago) our seventh grade team was first, and our eighth grade team second for their grade levels.

LEGO FIRST
Lego FIRST is a competition for teams of students between the ages of 9 and 14. Each team develops a strategy for meeting a specified goal, then uses Lego robotics equipment to build a robot to implement their strategy. After about six weeks of weekly meetings, the teams attend a tournament where they compete against other teams from the Fox Valley area. State and national level tournaments are held for those teams that place well at the local level. Past challenges have involved city planning and exploring volcanoes and the arctic. The challenge for 2003 involved visiting and exploring the planet Mars! This activity is open to both boys and girls in the seventh and eighth grades and takes place from early September through early November. For more information about Lego FIRST, visit www.usfirst.org.
